Sermon Passage: Romans 9:1-29 - The Boss Gets To Do The Choosing

Outline:

Religious Privilege does not Guarantee God Choosing Us (vv. 1-5).

  1. They had sonship.

  2. They had glory.

  3. They had a covenant relationship with God.

  4. They had the Ten Commandments.

  5. They had biblical worship services.

  6. They had divine promises.

  7. They had church fathers.

  8. They had Christ’s Ancestry.

Scriptural Interpretation does not Guarantee God Choosing us (vv. 6-13).

  1. Israel will be saved (v. 6).

  2. Men from the same dad equally share the inheritance (vv. 7-13).

God’s Sovereign Fairness in Salvation is Proven Over and Over (vv. 14-29).

  1. Moses and Pharaoh’s example prove it (vv. 15-18).

  2. Creator rights prove it (vv. 19-21).

  3. Redeemer rights prove it (vv. 22-29).
