Ways We Are Involved in Harmful Lying

  1. The lie of fear

  2. The lie for time management.

  3. The lie of half-truths.

  4. The lie for profit.

  5. The lie of what we profess to be.

  6. The lie to self.

  7. The lie to God.

Why is Lying Forbidden by God?

Responding to the No False Witness Command

  1. We should get a love for our neighbor.

  2. We must stand up in defense of our neighbor.

  3. We should exalt the truth for truth's sake.

  4. We must develop a hatred for falsehood

  5. Give thanks to God for his truthfulness.
